Sno-Park & Trail Report 2/4/10

Pam, I went for a snowmobile ride Thursday 2-4-10. There were 4 cars in the snow park, all with permits. We were at the 3800 foot level, 3 miles uphill past the pyramid snow park at Greenwater. The trail had been recently nicely groomed and above 4500 feet there was new snow covering the groomed snow. The new snow reached over 6" as we gained altitude but was intermittent in its location. At the one mile spur it was easy to get stuck in the deep new snow and a couple in our group of five did. We went down the Naches road to the 1911 road and up the trail toward Easton to the ridge that goes to the hiking trail. I had to be back in town early so we returned via the cabin. We had an enjoyable three hours and put on 40 miles and returned to the rigs at 2 PM where it was 46 degrees. I had no need to use my new slips.
