HomeSquaw Rock Checkour Ride

To all that have committed to go on the Squaw rock ride this coming week end:
I talked to Lee tonight and he has healed enough that we will have a ride from both locations. If you plan to ride out of Cle Elum. Please meet Lee at the Cle Elum Safeway/Burgermaster at 8 AM and email  him at kogerls@aol.com that you plan to meet him. Lee will lead you to the Gardeners where the rest will meet at 8:30. We will plan to meet the group leaving from Greenwater at 9 am at the Bald Mountain area (Ed will have GPS coordinates of meeting place), for lunch at 1 PM, have lunch, and play in the Bald Mt area before going, about one hour, to Squaw Rock for dinner (meals $9-15), hot tub(included) and sleep. If you need anything stronger than beer and wine BYO. We will have breakfast at the restaurant in the morning. Bring food and drinks for lunch and snacks for both days. There is a little store at Squaw Rock if you need incidentals.
The trip from Cle Elum can be done without leaving a groomed road. However, there will be ample opportunity to get off the road and play. The distance over will be about 50 miles plus what ever you want to play. Gas is available at Squaw Rock.
I did a check out ride with Charlie and Curtis on Saturday Jan. 21 from Woods & Steel. We located the trail from the South Fork road that bypasses the 3300 road and went almost to frost Mountain before getting on the road. We then broke trail in heavy wet snow to Quartz Mountain where charlie and curtis tookturns getting beach other out of tree wells for almost two hours. We returned via the road, eight hours, and 69 miles later minus one front shock.
I did the trip from Greenwater today, Jan 22, with Ed. It was 55 miles over with no play and took three hours. There were lots of well groomed trails and several never been ridden on roads and some trails that had a little challenge but that can be avoided if one wants to ride from GW. It is a more interesting route.
As of now I have Lee leading the following leaving from the Gardeners at 9 am:
Elwood, Rebecca, Ed, Bob, Darrell, Chuck, Ken & Linda (Linda, let me know if Kelly and Trina are coming).
I will lead Mike and Jeff from Greenwater unless the weather prediction is icy at Greenwater. It was no problem today. If any, especially those from the South end, want to ride out of GW let me know. It might balance the ride.
The ride on Sunday will be to a central play area where we will have lunch before we split to come home.

I have Jeff, Chuck, Darrell, Mike, and myself in Cabin #10. Everyone else has told me they have made a reservation. If you don't have sleeping arrangements let me know.
